Local Login Procedure --------------------- For Sysops wishing to log into their own system there are three primary steps: First setting up Arthur, secondly, configuring Camelot, and thirdly, setting up Excaltrm. 1. Setting up Arthur: First go into Arthur's Tools|Ports menu and insert a new setting entitled "Local Login". Then set the COM port to a number. Note that you can use any com port setting, either in use or not by the modem. (If you have selected the modem's COM port, make sure the Off-Hook field under "Modem Settings" is set to ATH1M0\r) Then exit Arthur. 2. Setting up Camelot: Open Camelot and select the Ports setting. Highlight and choose the "Local Login" Port and note the port ID# (the number most to the left). You will need this in the next step. Keep Camelot active as if it is waiting for a call. NOTE: You can only run as many Camelot ports as you have bought. For example, take a 2 node system. You may either: Run both lines for callers, or take one line down when you want to login locally. A 2 line system may only run 1 outside line and 1 local login at a time, vice versa applying for all other multiple line Excalibur Versions. 3. Setting up Excaltrm: Choose the System|Dialing Dir... menu and select "New Entry" Under the "Primary Phone" setting type a !(enter the ID# from step 2 minus the zeros to the left). Enter the name, and password of the identity you wish to login as and type "Local Login" for your system name. Choose OK, highligh and dial, "Local Login" Troubleshooting: If you get an error message stating, "Failed to Connect Via DDE" in a box, you need to make sure Camelot is running and the selections described above are made correctly.
